Women in Wine & Spirits Award has announced the full list of finalists for its second edition in 2021, Shanghai

As the first of its kinds, Women in Wine & Spirits Award (WINWSA) was initiated by Michelle Liu in 2020, with the singular mission: to recognize, connect and honor the accomplished female professionals who have contributed to shape the wine & spirits industry today.

WINWSA 2021 set up 17 categories to cover 7 various focus areas of wine & spirits industry, from production, service to marketing & education. Since the open of entry in mid-year, we have received more than 130 submissions and nominations from China, Asia-Pacific, America, Africa and Europe. It’s all attributed to the diligent work of committee and advisors, as well as the support from wine associations, professionals who helped us spread the word and promote the event.

WINWSA 2021 continues to celebrate the theme Sustainability, raising questions regarding how we can improve the environment through our sustainable practice.

The judging process was steered through scoring by an authoritative judge panel to select the influential female professionals through four judging criteria. The nominees this year display an incredibly colorful tapestry of diversified focuses, know-how that all exemplify the evolution and trend in the drink business.

WINWSA 2021 LIST OF 50

 

The 50 nominees announced over the presentation include well-known female professionals as well as new stars from nearly 15 countries and regions. ‘They represent passion, determination, dedication and innovation. That’s why we consider all the nominees equally deserve limelight and recognition as final winners. A WINWSA 50 LIST OF EXCELLENCE will be also published on our website.’ Michelle Liu said.

The guests of honor from WINWSA’s sponsors, media partners, and art & business field, presented and revealed 17 categories’ nominees in 2021. Due to travel restrictions, many absent partners and committee members sent video greetings to congratulate the nominees. Ms. Caroline Frey, Winemaker and Owner of Paul Jaboulet Aine and Chateau La Lagune, also the Honorary Advisor of WINWSA 2021, gave a virtual short speech, encouraging young talents to take leadership in the wine & spirits industry.

In addition to the award ceremony, Women in Wine & Spirits Award also organized a serie of program earlier this year has been one of the highlights for the industry. The joint forum with Wine to Asia was organized on the same day, to present a summit talk over wine & spirits market trends of 2021 in China.

The organization committee also revealed the scholarship and bonus program sponsored by Campari, Wine to Asia and Domaine Paul Jaboulet Aine The guests from leading drink brands, local distribution and domestic wineries, as well as art & media, witnessed the moment, by enjoying the innovative cocktails presented by Campari, and gourmet & wine experiences presented by ASC, PJA, JIARUI and Rona.
