Special attention is given to emerging Chinese wines. A generation of young, bold, and passionate winemakers is reshaping the country’s wine landscape.
6 Chinese wineries and young independent winemakers were specially invited to form the collective ‘New To Watch.’ They showcased distinctive labels and invited guests to engage in a thoughtful exploration of a shared conviction: that China’s terroir has the potential to produce wines of truly exceptional quality.
From Chateau Chaboran in Gansu’s Minqin desert — presenting a full portfolio that showcases the character of dozens of grape varieties ,to The FourGirls Mountain Winery in Aba, Sichuan, bringing high-altitude ecological wines, the selections reflected both bold experimentation and respect for nature.
Young, independent winemakers and leading representatives also joined the event, bringing their distinctive and thoughtfully crafted personal wine labels. Each participating winemaker behind these brands is a member of the YGCW Alliance—China’s New Force in Winemaking.
All of these young winemakers, gathered from across the country, represent a dynamic new force in Chinese wine. They bought top-tier education and hands-on experience from renowned wine regions such as France and New Zealand, laying a solid foundation of technical expertise, vision, and global perspective. Returning to China, they are now blending cutting-edge winemaking ideas with distinctive personal styles, dedicating themselves to expressing the unique terroir of China on the global wine stage.
On “New To Watch”, they showcased a range of remarkable bottles that embody their innovative spirit:
